The study of lipid profile, LP (a) and electrolytes with oxidative stress, total protein and albumin in nephrotic syndrome

چکیده
Hyperlipidemia is a common feature of the nephrotic syndrome. Hyperlipidemia so commonly complicates with heavy proteinuria that it has come to be regarded as an integral features of nephrotic syndrome lipid abnormalities in patients with the nephrotic syndrome have been recognized. 2 Lipoprotein abnormalities of the nephrotic syndrome are assumed to be related to the presence of proteinuria and risk for CHD. 3,4 The nephrotic syndrome is associated with an expanded interstitial volume and edema due to the Na and water retention. 5 The pathogenesis, clinical significance, and treatment options of the disturbances in lipid metabolism in adults with persistent nephrotic syndrome are reviewed. The lipoprotein profile is characterized by elevations of total plasma cholesterol and often triglycerides, elevated very low-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, whereas high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol levels are variable; plasma levels of the atherogenic and thrombogenic lipoprotein (a) are also elevated. 6

Effects of Salvia officinalis L. (common sage) leaves tea on insulin resistance, lipid profile, and oxidative stress in rats with polycystic ovary: An experimental study
Objective: Oxidative stress conditions and metabolic complications are common among polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients. There are various reports about hypoglycemic and antioxidant effects of Salvia officinalis L. (common sage). This study evaluated the possible medicinal effects of sage tea drinking on oxidative status, lipid profile, and insulin resistance in ...
متن کاملThe Relationship between Inflammation, Oxidative Stress, and Metabolic Risk Factors in Type 2 Diabetic Patients
Abstract Objective: Globally, 3-5.2 percent of people suffer from diabetes which is one of the most serious metabolic disorders resulting in an increase in inflammatory biomarkers e.g. interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and C-reactive protein. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between inflammation, oxidative stress and fasting blood glucose, lipid profile and a...
متن کاملEnsete superbum ameliorates renal dysfunction in experimental diabetes mellitus
Objective(s):Hyperglycemia mediated oxidative stress plays a key role in the pathogenesis of diabetic complications like nephropathy. In the present study, we evaluated the effect of ethanolic extract of Ensete superbum seeds (ESSE) on renal dysfunction and oxidative stress in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Materials and Methods:Glucose, HbA1c, total protein, albumin, renal function mar...
متن کاملThe Study of Oxidant and Antioxidant Status with Homocysteine, Total Protein and Albumin in Nephrotic Syndrome
Nephrotic patients show various abnormalities in protein kinetics. Plasma albumin levels and the total plasma albumin pool are reduced. Nephrotic syndrome is a consequence of an imbalance between oxidant and anti-oxidant activity. Oxidative damage has been proposed as one of the possible mechanism involved in the Nephrotic syndrome. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate oxidant a...
متن کاملEffect of Genistein and L-carnitine and Their Combination on Lipid Profile and Inflammatory Cytokines in Experimental Nephrotic Syndrome
Background: Nephrotic syndrome is a disorder caused by kidney damage that results in severe leakage of protein from blood into urine. Hyperlipidemia is one complication of nephrotic syndrome. L-carnitine and genistein can control cardiovascular diseases by causing changes in lipid metabolism and cytokine production. This study was designed to examine the effects of genistein and L-carnitine on ...
